Looking for the autumn in north Xinjiang province — the “Ghost Town of World” in Wuerhe

The Ghost Town of World is also called Wuerhe Wind Town. It is located in the lower reaches of Jiamuhe River in Wuerhe mining area of the northeast Junggar Basin, 100 kilometers southeast to Karamayi City. It is strangely shaped, and belongs to the special wind erosion landform. Because it is situated in the blast tuyere, there is wild wind for a year around, and the largest to 10-12 level. When the wind blows, the sand and gravels fly in the air and the murky sky over the dark earth. The air flow shuttles back and forth among the strange rocks and hills just like arrows with sharp noises, like wolves howling and tigers shouting. In the night with pale moonlight, the surroundings are quiet and desolate, which makes it look more horrible, hence the name Ghost Town.
Overlooking the wind town from a distance, it is just like a big castle in the Middle Age of Europe. The various shaped castles are in different sizes, scattering there irregularly. A lot of shallow and deep gullies were formed on the ground due to the weather-beat for thousand years. The bare stones were carved by wind as strange shapes. Along the rolling hills, there are lots of cobble stones in different colors, just like pearls scattered by demoness.
